Calcium chloride CaCl2 is an inorganic chemical. It is a product of wide application. It is mainly used in winter as an effective agent for removing ice and snow, especially at temperatures below -10°C. In summer it is used in the maintenance of gravel road surfaces - it reduces dust, bumps and ruts. It prevents dust from settling on sports fields, tennis courts and speedway tracks. In addition, it is used in construction as an additive to mortars and concrete. In the chemical industry, anhydrous calcium chloride is used as a drying and dehydrating agent in the production of organic solvents and gases. It is also used in coal, kerosene and gas mining and in agriculture as a source of easily assimilable calcium (Ca) for fruit and vegetables.
